The Pidgin Version of Psalm 23

I came across this and found it absolutely innovative and funny. It been in pidgin does not change its potency though. Enjoy!

1. The Lord is mai shepherd

2.He make mi sidon for where betta dey flow
Come put me next to stream make mai bodi
Thermacool.

3.He panel beat mai soul come spray am white,
come dey lead me dey go through express road of
righteousness for sake of Hin name.

4.Walahi!, if I waka pass where arm robber, 419
and juju people borku, come even join okada reach
valley of the shadow of death sef, mai bodi dey
inside cloth. Your rod and staff nko?
Na so dem dey back like bone dey comfort me.

5.You don prepare Banga and starch make I chop.
All mai enemies dey look anyaya.
You rub me for head wit Vaseline Intensive
Lotion. Mai cup na Ogunpa wey come overflow.

6.True true, betta life and mercy go gum mai
back till I quench. And man go tanda for God house
sotey sotey from Lai lai to lai lai.

GOD ALMIGHTY, NA YOU BIKO.
AMIN!

No midget for me!

I know I should let God freely decide who I’m going to settle down with, but I’m scared God will give me who I’m not physically attracted to. Before you can really understand what on earth I'm on about, I need to give you a few background points to keep in mind: I’m 5 9" (I could actually be 5 10" because I have not checked in a while). For this reason and more, I do not get attracted to a guy shorter than 5 10" and I’m being nice.

I’m 23 and would like to get married soon. Left to me, my husband will be 6 4". However, recently, I’ve been listening to sermons about letting go and letting God do the choosing because He formed you and knows exactly what you need. He has made someone whose destiny is compatible with yours and together, you will do exploits here on earth for God. I know all these. I listen to and read sermons and books by experts on relationship God’s way. By the way, my faves include Bimbo Odukoya and Dr Okey Onuzo. But still, I’m dreading God deciding it is going to be short man for me. Ahh!!!

I recently saw this photo of Sophie and Jamie (they are engaged) and it just got me worried all over again. At the end of the day, it is all down to personal tastes. She clearly does not mind being with a shorter man and he seems not perturbed at the thought of being the husband of someone who looks like his big sister. I would not judge them.

God puleease, you said in Your Word in Mark 11:23-24 that what things soever I desire when I pray, I should believe that I have it and I shall receive it, I decree and I declare that my husband will be taller than me-at least 6 1" and together we will fulfil Your plans for our lives. Amen!!!

Help! I need to lose weight...and fast too!!!

I can't believe this but yeah, I'm officially one of those people I used to encourage...those dying to be slim! Back in the day, I would advise my ‘big’ friends, 'Lara, you are fine as you are', 'Amina, you’ll look ill slimmer than this'. But now, I'm beginning to understand their plight and exactly where they are coming from.

Don’t get me wrong, I'm not exactly obese. I m about 5 9" and I wear a size 8 top and 10 down or lemme put it this way, I could 'fit into' an 8 top and 10 down without looking like I was wearing my younger sister's clothes (not that it matters, but I don’t have a sister). Now, hmmn, its so depressing to say but I’ll take succour in the fact that no one knows who I am and announce that: yours truly now rocks a 12 down compulsorily!!!

Peeps, I wan faint yesterday o. Lemme give you the gist. Yesterday, I went all the way from Coventry to *London with *Lola, a good friend, to buy bras. I'm sure you're wondering why the journey. well, she's what you’ll call 'endowed' and Bravissimo has been famed to have great bras for those in possession of such endowments. Anyways, after her fitting, we buy the bra and decide to do some shopping.

We enter into one H n M only for me to try on a waist 29 pair of jeans and guess what transpires right in the middle of this... I hear 'teeeeeooooowwwwnnnnn'. Yes o, the jeans rip! I was close to tears. As in, unless someone can allay my fears and somehow waist 29 is a size 8 and hence the tear, then I’m officially going to have to go on some marathon dieting...I’m thinking laxxies, bullie, ana...I’m just kidding o. But on the real mehn, this weight needs to go. My body needs to be restored to its former glory or even surpass it sef...Help!

I miss Naija

What can I say???? I ve been secretly trying to get into this blogging thing forever. Now, that Im through with my exams,I finally have the chance. Im so into blogs like temmytayo212, Just.... Toluwa, Linda Ikeji... Im through with Law now(yay!!!) and really cant wait to start my Masters in October (Ill be giving you the gist of which uni when the fulness of time comes).

I miss Naija soo much. As in, I cant even begin to explain how badly. Its so bad that I secretly envy all my friends that go like every little break. I have one friend, lets call her Remi. She goes every easter, summer, Christmas, even has some weddings etc in between. Aint she the lucky one? Some of them even complain, 'I hate going', 'There is no light', 'Its too hot' badi bladi blah... I m like, you lot have no idea how lucky you are to be going home and you act as though you weren't brought up in that 'hot' country. So annoying... now Im laffing at myself for feeling that way. Didnt know I had this much supressed irritation at them.lol.

Well, you really cant blame me. I have not laid eyes on my father in 3 years and the thought of that just makes me weak with pain. I really cant wait to see him. To top it all up, he, most likely, won't be attending my graduation. Anywho, I m a strong one. I ll be fine. Remind me to tell you guys why I have been banned from going to Naij by, guess who, my dad.

Right now, I m just working. Im trying to save up to buy an extra nice outfit for grad. My parents wont be sponsoring such frivolities. Still got Masters ahead, theyll say. No need getting any 'ela' from them, so I d work to earn the money. Im not vain o but I really dont want to do 'anko' (wear a similar outfit) with anyone on my graduation day. So I need ideas on where to buy a simple but classy outfit...

Have I mentioned that Im so ecstatic to be in the world of blogging? There you go.

I have so much on my mind and cant wait to dish it all out to the cyber world. Right now, I m supposed to be working...I get paid £7/h to do a job that requires me being on the internet throughout and for the past hour and a half, all I ve been doing is facebooking, reading blogs and writing mine. I feel like a sinner (chuckles).

Anyways, cashya larers...x
